How can I create a backup copy of the Excire Foto database?

To protect yourself against data loss in the event of a hardware defect, it is advisable to create a backup copy of the Excire Foto database. (Of course, you should also back up the actual photos regularly. But this is not covered in this article).

How to back up your Excire Foto database:
Option 1: Use the "Manual backup" command from the File menu to copy the database folder to an external hard disk.
Option 2: You can also copy the database using the file manager of your operating system. To do this, follow these instructions: https://support.excire.com/portal/en/kb/articles/how-can-i-move-the-excire-foto-default-database
You can download and install the software itself via the download area in our help center in the event of a defect. To activate the program, all you have to do is log in to the program with your user data. Your activation is stored there so that you no longer need the activation code from your purchase.

To copy the backed up database back:
Copy the database folder with all files and subdirectories to the database directory in which it was contained before the backup.
If you used the default directory, please copy the database to the corresponding directory before reinstalling Excire Foto so that the database is recognized directly and called up when the program is started. Otherwise, an empty database will be created first.
If you want to use a different directory for the database, you can also copy the saved folder there and open the database in Excire Foto using the "Select database folder" command from the file menu.
