How can I move the Excire Foto default database?

Excire Foto 2027: As of Excire Foto 2027, you no longer need these manual steps. Instead, use the menu command File → Database actions → Move current database and select the destination directory in the dialog. The next time you start the program, the database will be opened from this location.

Please choose a directory for the database that is separate from the program directory and from your image directories.

The following instructions apply to Excire Foto 2025 and earlier versions.

If you want to move the default database of Excire Foto to another directory, follow these steps:
1. If you have not selected the default database in Excire Foto, first switch to it via "File" -> "Open database folder" -> "Open default database"
2. Quit Excire Foto
3. Navigate to the Excire Foto application data directory. You can find this under "%APPDATA%\Excire Foto" (Windows 10) or under "/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/excire-foto" (macOS)
4. There you will find the following files and directories, which you can move to a directory of your choice:

1to1.exfoto
previews.exfoto
thumbnails.exfoto
excire_foto.local.db
excire_foto.local.db-shm (if available)
excire_foto.local.db-wal (if available)
backend.db
backend.db-shm (if available)
backend.db-wal (if available)

You can then launch Excire Foto and choose "File" -> "Open database folder" -> "Select database folder".

If you are not sure, you can also copy these files first and delete them from the default database folder later.
