Excire Foto is principally designed as a single-user software for one user accessing the database alone.
It is not possible to access the database from multiple computers at the same time.
It is possible, with some restrictions, for more than one computer to access the same database consecutively on an external drive or on the network.
Some functionalities are available only if the paths to the photos are also the same on all systems.
Accessing network drives is naturally slower and leads to performance losses.
Using the same database only works if all PCs use the same operating system (e.g. Windows or MacOS). In the case of Apple Mac, all computers must also use the same processor type (Intel or Apple).
Furthermore, it is important that an external hard drive on which the database is stored is ALWAYS assigned the same drive letter AND that the hard drive is connected and accessible to the program prior to starting Excire Foto. Otherwise, an empty database will open at startup, giving the impression that the photos in the database have been deleted.
Please also note that each user must have their own license. The purchase of a license allows activation on up to three computers. However, it is assumed that it is the same person.
This note is intended for advanced computer users and system administrators.
